At Lorena Middle School, we believe children come first! The middle school years are full of challenges and changes. We have a school counseling and guidance program focused on communication of information and prevention, as well as crisis intervention and remediation. The purpose of the program is to facilitate academic, career, personal, and social development for ALL students.

Individual Counseling:
I will meet with students as needed individually to discuss, academic needs & concerns and personal and social needs & concerns. A student can be referred from a teacher, parent or the student.

Classroom Guidance Lessons:
I will do classroom guidance lessons in the classrooms and discuss topics such as respect, responsibility, bullying, dealing with stress, drug & alchol prevention, and friends.

We want our students to succeed and we are here to help in anyway we can to make their middle school years the best they can be!

Some tips to help are:

*Check the teachers web pages. Their lesson plans for the week and important information about their class are on their web page. www.lorenaisd.net then click on teacher web pages at the bottom
*Get a password for powerschool so you can check your students' grades, absences and lunch balance. There is a form in the office to sign up for this.
*meet with your students' teachers if you have a question or concern. Call them or email them to get a conference set up. Communication plays an important role in helping our students be successful!
